Our ancestors made a conscious decision to settle in Frauenau. For this place, this natural landscape, this forest. The Bavarian Forest National Park starts right on our doorstep. And it changes something inside you. The silence on the way up to Mt Grosser Rachel. The moment when you trudge through the snow-covered forest in winter and all you can hear is your own breath. That summer evening when you come back from a hike and you know: that was a good day. What you experience out here isn’t something you take home as a souvenir. You carry it within you as a feeling.
Germany’s oldest national park begins right on our hotel’s doorstep. Mountain peaks, wildlife enclosures, primeval forests, and trails you’ll never forget.
